Le projet Babel/Maastricht a été présenté dans la galerie 42m2, dans le cadre de la manifestation Stad/Klank/Beweging, (Ville/Son/Mouvement) organisée par Stichting Intro Insitu, en décembre-janvier 2002-3.

Mon intention était de mener une enquête me permettant de découvrir TOUTES les langues maternelles parlées à Maastricht. Ce projet n'a été qu'en partie mené à bien, le nombre de langues enregistrées est resté largement inférieur à la réalité.

Trente-deux langues ont été enregistrées.

The project Babel/Maastricht took place in 2002-2003, during the manifestation Stad/klank/ Beweging (Town/Sound/Movement), initiated by Stichting Intro Insitu in the art gallery 42m2.

My intention was to lead a research to discover ALL the mother tongues spoken in Maastricht. The project has been only partially achieved, the number of recorded languages remained widely under the reality.

Thirty two different languages have been recorded.
